Synopsis

In a lighthouse now turned into a museum, Gordon, the former keeper, is confronted with loneliness and pines for days gone by. When Musa, an Afghan refugee, knocks on his door, Gordon finally finds the support he has been waiting for. But when Gordon discovers the true intentions of Musa’s visit, he is faced with a moral dilemma that will throw his long held convictions into question

 

Director Biography

Lewis Rose is a London-based writer and director. Much of his work is comedy driven and often explores themes around cultural and religious identity. His 2016 short, The Chop, was the recipient of the prestigious Pears Film Fund. lt has screened at over 200 festivals worldwide including BFI London and many others. lt has won over 50 awards to date, including top prizes at Palm Springs, Krakow and Denver. Alongside its festival journey, it was picked up for sales distribution and has since been sold to numerous airlines (Virgin Atlantic, Air France, Air Canada) and broadcasters (Canal+, France TV2).

Lewis’ 2020 short, Pops, was funded by a pre-sale from France Télévisions and went on to premiere at Rhode Island Film Festival where it won two awards. lt has since screened at over 80 festivals and has been sold to Disney+. Lewis is currently developing his first feature film, comedy drama The Golem of Golders Green. He is a multi-year Bafta Crew participant and has taken part in numerous writing and directing labs.Alongside his fiction work, Lewis is an award-winning commercial director. He has worked

with brands including Adidas, KFC and Kia, and made music videos for a host of major label artists. His music video for Beardyman won UKMVA in 2016 and several other awards. When he’s not directing, he performs improvisational comedy with The Free Association. He also make his own pickles (not too sour, not too sweet).
