People are so different from each other , so their dreams vary from limit to limit.
A path that is very important to someone, does not resonate at any level with someone else. This, we believe, is most true for artists. Their dreams often overcome even the biggest obstacles because they are bigger than them. Such was the dream that the director Besnik Zogaj followed. 10 years ago, when the first edition of WENIFF began to be organized, few people were close to witness its first steps.
What is our story?
‘West Nordic International Film Festival’ is a documentary and short film festival, that brings together artists and films from all around the world, in Alesund, Norway.
This journey began 10 years ago, in 2012, by a small group of people, film professionals, who believed that art is the best form of communication. Besides this, the fact that we have managed to bring many people to Aalesund for the first time, makes us so happy. When different people and cultures meet and intertwine, art takes on an even more special color. Year after year, the number of national and international films increased. Therefore every October, our country was enriched with visitors and producers from all over the world.
Today, we are very happy that we are living our vision and that we have been able to unite best film producers and film-lovers. We have had the honor of working with the most professional people of the industry, we have received thousands of application films and we have shared with the public only the best of them. We have worked hard, our team has increased and, most importantly, we have enjoyed the journey.
What’s next?
Today we are getting ready to successfully conclude our 10th anniversary.. February will be the time when one chapter of the festival will be ‘closed’ and another will be opened. With the knowledge and connections we have built, this journey will only become more valuable. We are looking forward to meeting you all from February 16 to 18.
Now that we have the list of selected films in our hands, we are looking forward to sharing the emotions with all those who love good films as much as we do!
