Synopsis
Ercan and Aysun are two handicapped actors who suffer from achondroplasia from birth. They have established a family despite their physical disability. They have two children named Yağmur and Damla.
They live in Afyon, a small city in the Aegean region in Turkey. Although they have difficulty earning their keep by theatre, they have been committed to theatre for many years. They remained far from stage during the pandemic.
When they are unable to find an opportunity to stage their plays in their city, they go to road shows in different cities. The Ercan & Aysun documentary documents the period from 2018 to 2022 related to their family life.
Director Biography
I graduated from Aegean Universty with “Relationship Between Cinema and Space” doctoral thesis in 2013.I gave “Scriptwriting” lessons in some universities in Finland, Denmark, Poland, Macedonia as a guest lecturer. My photo projects exhibitioned international galleries and some special events in England, Bosnia Herzegova, Turkey.
I made short fiction film in 2016 : “First Encounter With Authority”. This film awarded 5 International prizes from U.S.A. and European countries and this film joined 35 film festivals in the World as a finalist. I made doc. Short film: “Master Kezban” this film awarded from Artlightenment FF U.S.A. (International Doc. Category, Runner-Up)
I joined some worjshops about “Art and Creativity” in Latvia, Spain, Greece. I made some photo projects about “Local Culture” in Finland, Spain, Ireland, Iceland, Kazakhistan, Kyrgyzstan.
My ad. Film “Europass” awarded as Best Ad film in Europass Ad Competition in 2017 in Turkey.
I am working as an academician in Afyon Kocatepe Universty Fine Arts Faculty Cinema-T.V. Department.
