The wait is over! From March 6th to 9th, Ålesund will be filled with excitement as the film festival begins. Get ready for an amazing lineup of films, discussions, and special events. One of the festival’s biggest highlights is the jury—three talented professionals who helped us select the films and will now judge them while celebrating great storytelling. Let’s meet them!
Meet the jury.
Cristina Diana Seresin
A multidisciplinary visual motion designer, Christina has made an impact across television, cinema, advertising, and multimedia events. Her animated short films have gained international recognition at festivals such as Annecy, Torino Film Festival, Immaginale Berlino, Bjcem, and Beijing. Among her numerous accolades, The Audioguide won the Grand Prize at Castelli Animati Festival, Fuorifuoco received a Special Mention of the Jury at Capalbio Cinema Festival, and Sottosopra was awarded Best of Moving Images from Milan at BJCEM and Best Microbudget at NY IFTC. Christina is also a renowned film title designer, having created more than 25 title sequences for Italian feature films. Currently, she shares her expertise as a professor at Carrara University of Fine Arts.
Gaute Lid Larssen
A distinguished director and producer, Gaute Lid Larssen is known for his exceptional contributions to film. In 2023, he was Oscar®-nominated as a producer for the short film Night Ride. He continued his success in 2024 with Camping in Paradise, which won the jury award at the prestigious Academy Awards® qualifying Santa Fe International Film Festival in the USA. With a background at NRK, Gaute has been the managing director of Cylinder Production AS since 2000. His impressive portfolio includes documentaries, commercials, TV dramas, and multiple award-winning short films, solidifying his place as a key figure in the film industry.
Silje Reistad
A filmmaker with a background in journalism and acting, Silje Reistad is a key member of the film company Point of View. She directed the short film Overtime, which was nominated at the Children’s Film Festival in 2022, and has worked on multiple short films and documentaries, with her latest project now in post-production. Recently, she produced the NFI-supported short film Out of Mind and has previously brought to life Operation Siblings and The Blow Out Day. Silje’s passion lies in crafting playful yet thought-provoking stories that entertain while fostering deeper understanding and insight.
