Synopsis
Tara is denied electricity bill support by Social Services, who tells her to simply get a free grill instead – a task that forces Tara to make uncomfortable decisions.
Inspired by true events, “Grill” offers a satirical look at how a rich country in Scandinavia deals with poverty.
Director Biography
Jade is from Norway, and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Directing from the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles.
She has written and directed several award winning short films with funding from the Norwegian Film Institute et.al., that have screened at over 80 international film festivals, winning 18 awards including Best Short Film, Best Directing and Best Screenplay. Her short film “Pushing Night Away” also qualified for Oscar consideration and received funding from the Norwegian Film Institute for the Oscar campaign.
Currently, Jade is developing her debut feature film with funding from the Norwegian Film Institute’s talent program NEO.
