Director Biography
Eirik Svensson
Eirik Svensson is a renowned Norwegian film director and graduate of the Norwegian Film School. Known for his emotionally resonant storytelling, his debut feature, Must Have Been Love (2013), marked the beginning of a career defined by intimate and visually striking narratives. His works include One Night in Oslo (2014), the acclaimed historical drama Betrayed (2020), and his latest feature, Før mørket (2025) which will open the Gothenburg film festival January 2025. Svensson is a versatile filmmaker and has also directed episodes of the popular series Young and Promising, and a number of other projects, most recently the short film Tyrannen (2024) starring Kristin Jess Rodin.
